I can't get norton antivirus 2006 off my pc?

i was told to put it back on, then remove it...i've done it 3 or 4 times and it still won't come off. always a error of some kind.

Have you tried Add or Remove Programs?

Have you tried removing it from the safe mode?

Have you tried using the default uninstall option with Norton?

Go into safe mode and remove it. If you boot into Windows normally, Norton runs in the background so you can't remove all the pieces while it's running.
You can remove it manually! Delete the from D:\Program Files

and use the search tools to locate "norton" and delete it. Be sure to run regedit.exe in C:\WINDOWS and search for "norton" and remove it from the registry.

Easiest way is to use a uninstaller softwares which you can dowload it from download.com to remove it.
