Can I use Norton AntiVirus version 14.0 or 15.0 with an non-genuine Windows XPSP1? What are the risk

I previously had norton and then I used the pc security shield and now I use avg antivirus and anti spyware applications the avg applications are totally free but to answer your question unless the box for version 15.0 specifically requires you to have sp2 then 15 should be safer to use however using norton will use most of your computers resources to run the program where as avg only has to run when you are scanning and deleting viruses or spyware download it free just do a google search for avg anti spyware anti virus it will save you money and your computer will run a little faster.

1. The program doesnt care wether you have a legal copy.

2. My local computer stor ring anyone with Norton it is so bad to ask them if they want it removed and a free program such as AVG and Zonealarm put on..

This is what i recommend you do.

Yes but why would you, Norton is a power hog! Try NOD32, it has a much smaller memory foot print and provides much better protection!

The program doesn't care whether XP is genuine or not.
