Full system scan by norton antivirus 2007 is taking very very long time.?

last time it took more than 24 hrs and was yet not over. in fact it takes about 5 to 10 minutes scanning one file. this kind of extreme slow scanning happens only after a million or so files have been scanned (initially it goes faster). can someone please help .

Get rid of it, Norton is totaly useless and takes over your pc, your better off using one of the many free virus progs

I disliked Norton so bad that even after paying for it i uninstalled it because of it slowing my computer down along with alot of outher issues. i

Go with AVG it wont cost you one cent and you could have had 100 scans done by now.
dont use norton. use AVG Free edition. it is free and have daily updates. it is quick as well. Also check if your computer speed is slow or not.
you can try and run a disk clean then a disk defrag. you find those by start%26gt;all programs%26gt;accessories%26gt;system tools. That should speed it up some but in the end norton hasn't been a good antivirus since 2004. You can get AVG or Avast for free I personally use NOD32
i think u eaither have really slow connection or some internal norton errors..have you tried scanning in safe mode?
