Is Norton Antivirus adequate or do I need Internet security Too?

I'd suggest you go to www.lavasoft.com for Ad-Aware (free download). Use that after you get online at all, it'll hunt down anything that could cause your computer harm. Norton's is good, i personally use e trust EZ antivirus, which is a good program as well. Also, Spybot - Search %26 Destroy is a good adware program. Either way, make sure you clear your temp internet files and cookies frequently, that can bog your computer's internet processes.

If you're using IE7, it doesn't have some of what AOL or Mozilla Foxfire has as far as internet security, but it's a good server in my experience, and when I delete all my browsing history/files/cookies/etc., it clears up all the loose ends.

bounty jac...is really close on this 1 (not the anti v tho)

these will HELP keep out the bad guys.... you are the #1 defense: when %26 if you go to seedy sites, expect to get hammered with junk.....also, set the browser (i.e.) up for defense: tools%26gt;intenet opt's%26gt;privacy%26gt;advanced%26gt;check 'allow session cookies' and box under this; check the box 'BLOCK 3RD PARTY COOKIES'

use firefox for general browsing, i.e. if sites insist, but beware, i.e. has 'active x' controls (this allows the originating site to direct your machine to do...well, anything! so make sure the site is one you feel very good about, otherwise, kablammoo.
