What does norton antivirus do?

does it stop viruses from coming in my computer? is it good to use? can it take away the viruses?

It makes sure no viruses enter your computer, i think it can get rid of em, I haven't had any since in got norton. So it's actually pretty good

yes.
That's what Norton's job is. But as the saying goes.. not all antivirus is 100% reliable. And saying that... norton is still a good Antivirus.

I would suggest you to install a firewall and an Antispyware as well. Since firewall can protect you from viruses as well and Antispyware protects you from adware, spyware... etc.

yes,Norton is great just update the software by using the "live update" option,Norton cleans all the viruses your PC got!
Norton works great. Just make sure you update your virus definitions on a regular basis
that is the general idea of an antivrus program. I use Norton's on both my pc's along with Zone Alarm Pro firewall and antispyware, touch wood, a good combo for me. Firewall and antispyware other essential programs.
