Does really Norton antivirus really oppress the computer?

A lot of people consider Norton to do more harm than good, and I'm inclined to agree. The problem with a single extremely popular program is that people look for ways to exploit the flaws in that program and take advantage of you, which is what happens with Norton. I remember that there was recently an issue with Norton automatically disconnecting the user from the internet if the computer was sent a certain string of text, so people started going into chat rooms and pasting that string of text just to see how many people would be forced offline. Naturally, this is extremely in conducive to getting any work done, so in that case having Norton was the sure fire way to get annoyed.

My advice is to find another antivirus/firewall program that doesn't impose on your computer's resources, but if you feel uncomfortable doing that, then Norton( as bad as it may be) is better than nothing at all.

If you want my opinion, Norton antivirus is the worst antivirus i have ever seen. Not only does it oppress the computer as if the whole cpu was dedicated for its use but it also allow a large quantity of viruses to enter your computer ( even when updated)
