For Popup protection use Yahoo toolbar and Google toolbar WITH the popup blocker on yous SP2 system firewall.

I've used this combo of programs for YEARS with extremely good results.

Just make double sure you get all of Symantec's files OUT of your computer. Before you install the AVAST or whatever other prog you decide on Uninstall Norton. It's a messy prog and leaves garbage files all over your puter. After you unistall Norton using the Add/Remove programs in your Control panel you'll need to clean up those left over files.

To do this click on Start%26gt;Run, then type regedit in the dialog box that comes up. Highlight "My Computer"%26gt;Click Edit at top left and the Find, check ALL boxes and then type in Symantec, click Find next...if/when your computer finds a file delete it and then hit F3 on the top row of keys on your KB. This will continue the search. Delete each and every Symantec file you find. Then do the same procedure with the word Norton.
